Disney Water Parks
Disney is home to two waterparks, but only one will be open when you visit. Since reopening following COVID lockdowns Disney have only had one water park open at a time. You’ll need to check the Disney calendar to see which park will be open during your trip, you can do that here. As a rule of thumb, expect Blizzard Beach to be open during the Winter months and Typhoon Lagoon to be open in the Spring and Summer.
Expect a thrilling water park experience, as both parks boast immersive theming and exciting rides. The water park experiences you will have in Disney World is completely different from anything here in the UK. Both Disney water parks are also much larger than the largest outdoor water park here in the UK, Splashdown Quaywest.
Disney World shopping experiences
Shopping in Disney is lots of fun from buying souvenirs in the parks, to heading out for a day around Disney Springs, you’ll find lots of shopping experiences. If you’re a big pandora fan why not bring your bracelet and add a Disney Park Exclusive Pandora charm. Beautifully designed, they make exquisite keepsakes. You can even get Star Wars themed options.

With options to suit every budget and every taste, there’s lots of reason to get excited about the tasty treats you’ll have on holiday. From Mickey shaped treats you’ll not be able to get enough of to quick service meal options including breakfasts like Mickey Waffles. (You need to try them at least once, maybe every day)!
You can sit down for breakfast, lunch or dinner and take in different cuisine from all your can eat to fine dining, from character meals to romantic settings. And if you’re looking for the ultimate luxury experience, you can even book to dine in a Michelin starred restaurant Victoria and Alberts. Don’t you just love that it’s named after English monarchy!
Night time experiences at Disney World
The magic doesn’t stop at night, but there is definitely one park where you’ll find the magic goes to bed: Animal Kingdom. As it is usually closed by night fall, the park has no evening entertainment, but there is plenty to enjoy in the other 3 parks.
Disney World experiences after dark bring the magic to life in new ways. From fireworks to shows with dinner, Cirque du Soleil and evening movies under the stars for resort guests, Disney after dark is delightful. Whether you have a park ticket or not, you can still enjoy the night time fireworks and even catch a water show for free.
Disney World Seasonal Experiences
Disney know how to celebrate seasonal events. Halloween and Christmas is when the park really comes to life. Celebrations for Halloween begin in August when the hold Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The Christmas decorations appear in the first week of November and if you are lucky enough to be in Magic Kingdom Halloween and then again on the 1st November the transformation will leave you in awe.
There are a couple of seasonal events in the parks that you can book tickets to experience. This includes Jollywood Nights in Hollywood Studios and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom.
